Over the past years, the prepping movement has really taken off and more and more people are starting to do it, but those that aren’t preppers still don’t understand what exactly people are prepping for.
Here are reasons why people are prepping for tomorrow:
- Our Ancestors Prepped
Preppers today have the convenience of Wal-Mart and Target, but our grandparents didn’t have those things and had to stockpile what they could when they had access to it.
- Violent Protests
The past few years of current events have shown division throughout our country and that things such as protests or violent acts can strike at any moment.
- Economic Collapse
As we have seen before, the economy can fluctuate drastically and it’s never a bad idea to be prepared financially and to have supplies to get you through this hard time.
- Natural Disasters
Disasters such as wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes unexpectedly occur and can destroy everything in it’s path.
- Nuclear Catastrophe
The United States has nuclear power plants in 32 states and they are vulnerable to both natural disasters and foreign enemies.
- Terrorism
After 9/11 it became evident that even though our country is extremely secure, we are still vulnerable to enemies both foreign and domestic.
- Solar Flares
We have a chance of seeing a solar flare catastrophe in the next decade and they can cause trillions of dollars in damage and can take us over a decade to recover.
- Electric Grid Failure
Our population is using a power grid that was built for a much lower population. Only time will tell if the infrastructure can hold up to our rapidly growing population.
Not being prepared can leave you and your family extremely vulnerable to whatever comes your way. Prepping even in the smallest amounts can leave you with that bit of security that you didn't have before.
